This site on Big Platte Lake was designed for the Benzie Conservation District as a Shoreline Demonstration Site in 2005. The client was moving grass all the way to the water's edge and wanted to bring back natural vegetation and bring the site "A LIVE" again. A variety of trees, shrubs, perennials, and grasses were designed to provide framed views from the home, wildlife habitat on land and in the water, and an array of color and texture throughout the year. There is access to the water with mowed walkways, a kayak storage, and seating near the dock.
