Pearl Lake
Open Shoreline Changes to Native Plant Establishment
When the homeowners on Pearl Lake purchased their lakeside property the native plants along the shoreline had been removed from the waters edge to the woods. The goal; reestablish native plants, leave openings to the water for access, eliminate invasive plants, and provide habitat for wildlife from the shallow water to the woods.
This project has been challenging due to the rising lake level. First year after installation the lake rose to a level that had not been seen in recent times. Then the next year it rose again. Hopefully the water level has stabilized so the plants can take hold and become established.
